Candle Care

TRIM YOUR WICK

Each time you want to burn your candle, start by trimming the wick to between 1/8 and 1/4 inches long. You can use scissors, nail clippers or a specialized wick trimmer. Trimmed wicks will give you a cleaner, brighter burn. Untrimmed wicks are a lot more likely to take on a weird mushroom shape that dulls and obscures the flame.

Develop A Full Melt Pool

When you light your candle, please do not blow it out until the top layer of wax has developed a full melt pool. This process may take up to 4 hours to achieve. If a candle is not burned for long enough to allow the wax to liquefy or to melt from edge to edge of the container, it will create a “memory ring.” Once a candle has a “memory ring,” it will continue to tunnel for the life of the candle.

Do Not Leave Unattended

Never leave a burning candle unattended. Never burn a candle on or near anything that might catch fire or near drafts.
